The
Highlands Business Park is located in Southwestern
Virginia on U.S. Route 11 near Exit 29 of Interstate
81. The park is in a scenic, rural setting despite
its proximity to Tri-Cities urban area, and access
to major national markets through Interstate 81, 77,
26, and 40.
Our 300-acre industrial park is owned and operated
by the Smyth-Washington Regional Industrial
Facilities Authority (SWIFA). The property is fully
developed with water, sewer, electricity, natural
gas, telecommunications fiber conduit, and an access
road. The park also features a 40-acre building pad
graded flat and a 87,500 square foot shell building
completed and ready for occupancy.
The park is located within an Enterprise Zone, which
offers long-term financial benefits to companies.
The location of the Highlands Business Park makes
businesses establishing within the park eligible for
additional funds through the Tobacco Region
Opportunity Funds. Smyth County and Washington
County offer a highly skilled labor force, and the
two-county area has a low percentage of union
employment.
Local business leaders extol the virtues of the
region, including the productivity of the workforce,
low cost of doing business, and the favorable
business climate. |
